Our role is to protect people and property on University properties. UOW Security operates in Wollongong 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the year and responds to the Wollongong Campus, Innovation Campus and Student Accommodation and business activity across Wollongong. UOW engages security contractors for the regional and metropolitan campuses. UOW Security also provides support and assistance to these campuses as needed.

We believe everyone has the right to feel safe and supported on campus, free from discrimination, harassment and assault. The Safe and Respectful Communities (SARC) team is responsible for leading the University’s work to prevent sexual assault and harassment from occurring on our campuses and for providing coordinated response and support if it does happen.

SafeZone is UOW free Security's mobile app and is the quickest way to contact Security. All UOW Campus locations are covered by the app. The SafeZone app enhances personal safety at UOW by making it easier to contact UOW Security if help is needed. The SafeZone app is a great resource if you ever need emergency assistance for yourself or someone else. UOW Security monitors SafeZone 24 hours a day.
