Your Photo Day on Campus in Wollongong

Having your photo taken in your academic dress is a really important part of your graduation experience. Now that NSW Health has eased some restrictions, we’re really pleased to be able to offer you, your family and friends the opportunity to register to attend our Graduation Photo Week, which will be held at the Wollongong Campus from 13 to 17 December.

You will receive a reminder email the week before you are due to arrive for your photo opportunity. Please ensure you are checking in and in line with all COVID-19 requirements while attending campus.

All participating students who will be wearing a gown must be double vaccinated. You will be asked to show your vaccination certificate before you access building 17.

Please stay healthy and safe and if you feel sick on the day of your booking contact the team by emailing  graduation@uow.edu.au and we will arrange another time in the New Year to accommodate you.

What to expect from Graduation Photo Week:

  • You will be able to borrow your academic dress for an hour-and-a-half and take photos on our campus grounds.
  • The academic dress that you will borrow is:

               -A UOW graduation gown
               -Trencher/bonnet (graduation hat)*
-A coloured hood (specific to your degree)

  • There will be no charge for you to take part in Graduation Photo Week.
  • Graduation photo week will be a COVID-Safe event.
  • All gowns and hats will be laundered between uses.

There will be a photographer on campus during the week (on the duck pond lawn). He will be taking informal photos on the day (not 'official' graduation portraits), and you will be able to download your photos from this website in the days following Photo Week.

If you would like to hire your own professional photographer, a your own expense. You're welcome to do so.

You are welcome to bring friends and family as long as they are double vaccinated as per NSW Health guidelines and check-in using the Service NSW QR codes on campus. Your group will need to adhere to capacity limits while indoors on campus.
