Referencing

At university, you're expected to research widely and build your knowledge from the expertise of others. Referring to appropriate academic sources will strengthen your argument and add credibility to your writing.

It's important to reference all your sources:
•    to allow you or someone else to find the source of your information
•    to avoid plagiarism by acknowledging when and where you’ve used the words or ideas of others

Student Advisory Council

The Student Advisory Council (SAC) is UOW’s formal student representative group and provides the University of Wollongong greater ability to hear and respond to the wider student voice.  SAC comprises of several key student cohorts and reports to the Vice-Chancellor’s Advisory Group. You can connect with The SAC via Facebook or you can get in contact via email.

PAL

Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) is embedded into specific subjects in 2021 to assist UOW students to increase understanding of course content, confidence and academic success. The goal is to get UOW students learning with and from each other!

These sessions are facilitated by PAL Leaders, who are Senior Students that have successfully completed the first year subjects and are able to share their experiences around tackling challenging content or learning situations. They create collaborative, interaction (and fun) study sessions where you can discuss content you find challenging or share what you know with other students. They can also refer you to a range of UOW support services.
