Digital technologies are firmly embedded within learning experiences within tertiary settings. This panel draws expertise from specialists working in Nairobi and Wollongong as experiences with diverse technologies (webinars to games to Artificial Intelligence as examples) are shared and discussed in connection with opportunities for enriching the student experience.

Prof Lisa Kervin

University of Wollongong

Prof. Lisa Kervin is a Professor in Education in the Faculty of the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Wollongong, where she is also Director of Early Start Research. Lisa's current research is focused on young children and how they engage with literate practices, adult and child interactions, young children and writing, and play.

Dr Vinod Gopaldasani

University of Wollongong

Dr Gopaldasani is a physician with over 15 years’ experience in occupational health and diseases. He has previously worked for the healthcare industry and with the mining industry prior to joining the University of Wollongong where he is the current Director of the Centre for Occupational Public and Environmental Research in Safety and Health (COPERSH)

Prof Agnes Wausi

University of Nairobi

Prof. Agnes Wausi is an accomplished Associate Professor in Information Systems at the University of Nairobi's Department of Computing and Informatic since November 2019. Her vast experience in academia and  ICT management at senior levels within the University of Nairobi underscores her academic and professional contributions to the field.

Dr Amanda Rita Gigliotti

University of Wollongong

Dr Amanda Rita Gigliotti is a Lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Wollongong. Specialising in educational technology in higher education, her research investigates teachers’ design decisions when planning for and using technology in their
teaching.

Dr John Otieno Oredo

University of Nairobi

Dr. John Otieno Oredo Lectures in the Department of Information Science at University of Nairobi. He holds an MSc. IT from Strathmore University and a PhD in Business Administration specializing in Strategic Information Systems from the University of Nairobi. Dr. Oredo’s research interests fall at the nexus of digital technologies, organizations, and society.

Prof Naomi Gikonyo

University of Nairobi

Prof. Gikonyo is  an Associate Professor, Coordinator Innovations and Intellectual  property, (Faculty of Education, Uni of Nairobi); an educationist, trainer, researcher, mentor and expert in open, distance and digital learning. She has exemplary competence in open, distance and e-learning: planning, implementation and monitoring of educational programmes; content development, learning and instructional design and support.
